BankOnBuffalo announced today it has taken the first steps to establish its 11th branch facility in Western New York by submitting notices to the appropriate banking regulatory agencies to establish a branch facility at 676 Hopkins Road in East Amherst, N.Y.
The notices were submitted to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the New York State Department of Financial Services and the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities.
The new branch will become
BankOnBuffalo’s 11th branch since opening its first in February 2017 in downtown Buffalo’s Electric Tower. Other branches were subsequently opened in Orchard Park, Williamsville and Niagara Falls. Six more branches were added to the network with the acquisition of the Bank of Akron in July 2020.
“This new branch in Amherst will be a significant upgrade in serving both commercial and consumer banking clients who are looking for a highly personal and customized approach to fully address their financial needs and concerns,” said Marty Griffith,
BankOnBuffalo president. “We are excited about this new opportunity for
BankOnBuffalo and our future clients in this part of the northtowns.”
BankOnBuffalo plans to remodel the former long-time banking facility on Hopkins Road to its client specifications, including state-of-the-art interactive technology. The approximate 3,900-square-foot facility is already equipped with multiple drive-up banking lanes, which will be part of
BankOnBuffalo’s operations there.
Once banking regulatory approvals are received, an opening six months later is anticipated for the new Hopkins Road branch.
BankOnBuffalo began as a start-up division of CNB Bank with a loan origination office, and in February 2017, opened a full-service bank branch on the first floor of the Electric Tower in downtown Buffalo.
BankOnBuffalo now operates 10 branch offices in Buffalo, Orchard Park, Williamsville, Clarence, Clarence Center, Akron, Lancaster, Niagara Falls, and Wilson, as well as a private banking and wealth management solution called
BankOnBuffalo Investment Advisors.
