Hopes Other Businesses Will Also Donate As the Need Grows Greater
BUFFALO, N.Y. – During these unprecedented times impacted by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), BankOnBuffalo donated $7,500 today to FeedMore WNY to help procure and distribute nutritious food and support to hungry residents throughout Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua counties.
“There is a heightened need for additional food as parents and caregivers may be losing their jobs or losing hours at work because of the economic impact of COVID-19,” said Martin T. Griffith, BankOnBuffalo president. “As a leading community bank, BankOnBuffalo hopes our example of support will generate more business donations to help FeedMore WNY feed those families in need.”
Businesses and individuals can donate to the COVID-19 Emergency Food Relief and Assistance by going to www.feedmorewny.org.
“These donations will be extremely important in the weeks ahead as we keep up with the increasing need for nutritious meals – especially as school closings and reduced employment make more members of our community vulnerable to hunger,” Tara A. Ellis, president and CEO of FeedMore WNY, said. "We are grateful for BankonBuffalo's partnership, and we appreciate all those who are helping FeedMore WNY nourish our neighbors in need during these challenging times.”
As a community bank, BankOnBuffalo, a division of CNB Bank, is being developed by local people and businesses. This local decision-making increases the level of service provided to the communities in and around Buffalo and brings growth to the entire region. More information is available at BankOnBuffalo.bank.
