DEPEW, N.Y. – BankOnBuffalo celebrated the groundbreaking today of their newest SMART Center at 4781 Transit Road, near French Road in Depew. Upon its completion, which is anticipated to open in 2025, the new Transit and French office will be BankOnBuffalo’s 13
th location in Western New York. Today’s ground-breaking also comes on the heels of the opening in August of the bank’s first office in the Rochester area.
“At a time when other banks are closing and consolidating offices or disappearing from Western New York entirely, BankOnBuffalo is very proud to continue to grow and expand our footprint here, enabling us to meet the financial needs of more consumers and businesses across this community,” said Michael Noah, Chief Operating Officer, and President of BankOnBuffalo. “Although we are still a relatively new bank, having opened our first office just seven years ago, we have grown steadily, which is a testament to our community banking model that so many have embraced.”
BankOnBuffalo currently employs more than 110 people, has more than $1.0 billion in deposits and operates thirteen community offices, in Erie, Niagara and Monroe Counties, including an innovative, full-service mobile branch – the BankOnWheels.
The 2,000 square-foot state-of-the-art SMART Center at Transit and French will be staffed by 5 bankers and will include a drive-up banking lane and two SMART Stations – one in the lobby and one in a drive-up lane. SMART Stations are enhanced teller machines (ETMs) which effectively extend the office hours by allowing customers to have a live video chat with a BankOnBuffalo banker who can provide banking assistance/services and answer any questions hours before and long after the branch itself is closed.
“We’re thrilled to officially kick off construction of our new Transit & French office,” said Michael Anderson, Senior Vice President, and Market Executive at BankOnBuffalo. “We have really been looking forward to this day and we are even more eager to cut the ribbon and open our doors here in 2025.”
