AMHERST, N.Y. – BankOnBuffalo held a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to celebrate the opening of its SMART Center at its newest office at 827 Hopkins Road in the Town of Amherst. It is BankOnBuffalo’s 11th branch overall and second one in Amherst.
“We took the opportunity to extensively renovate a former bank branch that had been dormant for over four years into BankOnBuffalo’s SMART Center that will provide a unique banking experience for personal and commercial banking customers in northern Amherst, Getzville and East Amherst,” said Martin T. Griffith, BankOnBuffalo president.
BankOnBuffalo remodeled the former banking facility on Hopkins Road, near Klein, that has been vacant since October 2016 into one with an array of state-of-the-art interactive technology for customer convenience. A highlighting feature are the SMART Stations, which provide clients with the ease of talking about their accounts before and after normal banking hours with a banker via interactive video.
Customers will also be greeted by an attractive exterior look and lobby entrance before they enter a renovated interior layout that mirrors other BankOnBuffalo SMART designs with a wireless café-style lobby, open transaction areas, digital displays, cash recyclers, coin counter, and coffee station.
The approximate 3,900-square-foot facility is also complemented by a drive-up banking lane, where customers can access the SMART Station to use interactive video to perform such transactions as making deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments, cashing checks and checking on account balances and loan payoffs.
“BankOnBuffalo not only invested in a newly renovated banking facility, but we also invested in the community by constructing a meeting room that can be used in the future at no cost by civic and not-for-profit groups,” Griffith said.
Leading the office renovations for BankOnBuffalo were LaBella Associates and its architect, Rich Nardini, and BRD Construction as the general contractor.
BankOnBuffalo began as a start-up division of CNB Bank with a loan origination office, and in February 2017, opened a full-service banking facility on the first floor of the Electric Tower in downtown Buffalo. BankOnBuffalo currently operates 11 branch offices in Amherst, Buffalo, Orchard Park, Williamsville, Clarence, Clarence Center, Akron, Lancaster, Niagara Falls, and Wilson, as well as a private banking and wealth management service, BankOnBuffalo Investment Advisors.
